Most people only think of the PDA as only a digital organizer. But it actually evolved since its first entrance into the public it has evolved from just an organizer to actually a small handheld computer. Who actually uses these PDAs is one of the popular questions; even though the obvious reasons would be business people but it has slowly gained popularity with the rest of the general public. As more programs become available designed for PDAs, almost everyone can find a usage for a PDA. You can use the PDA as an entertainment system, for example you can use it to game, watch video clips and listen to mp3s.
PDAs can help you out with organize all your simple tasks. The PDAs can easily help you store addresses, phone numbers and important dates. One of the greatest functions of a PDA is its capability in reading emails. As long as you are connected to the internet viewing your emails will be very easy. Either via through wired or wireless it allows all PDA users a chance to be virtually connected at all times as long as they can find a signal. Though the small screen may not be the best for web browsing but there are beginning to have more and more internet sites designed to fit perfectly in the screen of the PDAs. But most of these sites only provide news and articles for PDA users to keep themselves up to date as they travel. But having the internet virtually ready for you to access at all times is obviously not a bad feature to have. It will allow you to look up on some information quick and conveniently.
The PDAs are perfect as a reference device. With over 7,000 programs to download and buy from the internet it allows you to get programs that will be helpful for you. Since the PDA is generally pretty small and sleek it allows you to carry it around with you everywhere as long as you have a pocket or a purse. With the PDA you can have dictionaries, maps of either world or regional, calculators and many more programs that can come in handy. All these information is made readily at a touch of a stylus or a finger, it is no wonder PDAs are rapidly replacing pocket dictionary due to the size and convenience the PDAs allow. Not to say that you cannot possible carry a dictionary, maps and a calculator all in your pockets.
PDAs aren't just for adults, but for people of all ages. Even though PDAs are generally used as a digital organizer but it has become an attractive small entertainment system on the go too. PDAs especially the Pocket PC platforms are designed with the option of becoming a good companion for those who commute. As it allows you to download videos on to the PDA assuming you have enough memory to hold it, or carry mp3s on the go. But the more popular option is to download games on to the PDA to play. With a good library of games designed specifically for PDAs, it has become equivalent to and even include more feature than the gameboys.
