Paid Surveys: Fact or Fiction
|
If you are not in the know, the purpose of a paid survey is for companies to get the consumers opinion about their products and services. Many paid survey ads claim that companies pay millions of dollars each year because they value your opinion. It is true that companies want to know what consumers think about their products and services and they hire market research companies to conduct the research. And if you think about all the companies that exist in the world who value their customers opinion, a million dollars is not a lot of money. It may be a lot of money from one company, but not when it is divided by the thousands. However, phases like the ones above and other bold print and catchy phrases are very enticing to someone who is looking to earn easy cash. As it turns out, it is highly unlikely that anyone will earn mucho dollars by being a paid survey taker. Although in some cases it could be an okay part-time job, you might make more money stealing pennies from a fountain. The trick is finding the right paid survey program. First you have to find the ones that pay you and not the other way around. Second, after finding the ones that do pay, you need to figure out which one actually pays money versus a bogus reward. You will find most paid survey companies offer a chance to win money by putting your name in a drawing with thousands of other people who took the paid survey. So your chances of getting paid despite all the hard work you put into filling out the paid survey are close to none. But the company really enjoys your opinion. One rule of thumb to go by is this: the more enticing the ad, the less you are going to get paid. Think of it this way. A good doctor does not have to advertise. A good doctor gets patients from word of mouth. It is very hard to get an appointment with a good doctor. If the paid survey job is as good as advertised, then it does not have to be advertised so extravagantly. If the job is so good, why do they except anybody and not limit the amount of people they hire? Paid survey ads that use big bold print with a lot of explanation points are the ones to be avoided. Why? Basically, they want to sell you a job, literally. No one can deny that it would be nice to go online, pick out a survey, and watch your bank account balance role like a truck drivers odometer. If you are a good researcher, you can find a decent paid survey company that will pay decent money. However, your bank account balance may mimic more like an odometer of an Amish farmers horse and buggy.
