You can create an outdoor oasis for yourself simply by strategically buying and placing patio sets that you like. There selections of patio sets are endless, you can choose from plastic, steel, wicker and all these different types of woods. Having a patio set allows you to entertain in outdoor atmosphere with comfort of your indoor furniture.

Having a patio set give you the feel of being at retreat or a cottage. You can purchase patio pieces and sets or you can mix and match. It is great to have a set because they will cost you less money in the end, and you have matching furniture. Patio sets are many from many different materials. Wood is popular choice among all patio sets. To be more specific, teak is becoming increasing popular. Although, it is a quite expensive, but it is real investment because as it ages, it gets even more beautiful. You can also pass it as a family heirloom. With the hefty price, you are probably thinking you have to take great care of it, but the answer is no. It is virtually no work at all, because you just leave it natural if you want, or you can rub it with teak oil for a sheen effect or just sand it down.

Patio sets come a in a variety of different pieces. There are usually a package of matching chairs, depending on how much you want, a garden bench, a table and a chaise lounge. Extra additions include canopies and hammocks. A chaise lounge chair is excellent for relaxing with a good book. Patio chairs are usually equipped with cushions to be make your seating a little bit more comfortable and cozier. Most manufacturers use weather-proof fabrics to protect the seating from the harshest weather, it is definitely a great investment, it beats running outside to save the cushions from getting wet. Umbrellas and shades are available to put in the middle of your table to keep the harsh sun from being down and keep you and your guests in the shade.

Unfortunately, there is not a wide range of colors available, but it can be an advantage. If you have a backyard filled with vibrant colors, you don't need a need a colorful patio in the first place. By choosing a neutral colored patio set and putting against a colorful back drop of nature, it can be gorgeous right there. Wicker patio sets add a natural feel to your backyard. It gives you a simple and outdoorsy effect, you can dress up the wicker chairs with vibrant colors and patterns to make a statement itself. If you are interested in a traditional and Victorian era feel, use floral prints. If you prefer a modern twist, you simple, bold and sharp fabrics. Wicker patio sets are versatile, so you are able to give it your extra flare.

If you prefer a traditional Victorian era style theme in your backyard, you may want to consider metal patio sets. They are require little maintenance and last a long time; for example, some people still use metal patio furniture pieces from the actual Victorian era. The benches are great for dressing up a plain section of your garden. I suggest placing plants on the bench to dress up the section of the backyard to become a simple focal point of the yard. If you don't want metal patio sets, you may want to consider aluminum patio sets, they are lightweight and easy to store at the end of season. Chinese oak patio sets are durable, it provides a natural look. If you like your patio set to be light in color, this is an excellent choice for you. You can also consider tannic acid, it is similar to Chinese oak, the only disadvantage is that they are both susceptible to fungus and insects.

Cedar patio sets are durable and easy to lift. Lately, natural red cedar has been increasingly popular, it gives a nice rustic feel to your backyard. If you tend to like lighter and brighter colors, northern white cedar is your pick. If you decide to purchase a plain wood set, you can buy a semi transparent stain to protect the set from the sun blasting sun, if you leave it natural, it will go to a silver-gray, like teak. If you love the dark and rich feel, mahogany is your winner. Not only does it add class to your yard, it also is durable when the bad weather hits, to keep it up the maintenance, you can apply a water-repellant. The patio should be an extension to your home, try to make it comfortable and inviting for you and your guests. It will make your summer a little bit more enjoyable!
