Wonderful scenery, tropical sunsets and blue sea awaits you at Phuket, Asia’s most famous beach destination. The island provides its travelers a combination (which is unbeatable) of superb hospitality, beautiful beaches and accommodation. As any holiday needs some research before it is visited, it is advised to have a research done before your Phuket travel, which would save both money and time.
Currency, which is acceptable in Phuket, is Thai Bhat. The island has a lot of modern facilities available, which include the Traveller’s check that can be in-cashed anywhere. Again, huge numbers of ATMs are available that accept the international cards. Money can be withdrawn from ATM machines using credit cards also, but you will have to incur charges on it. Island’s popular destinations, Phuket City, Patong and Kata-Karon, all have money changers too.
The common language in Phuket is Thai, but most people also speak English. Even if you get lost over there, you can contact the sellers over there. However, it is preferable that you get in touch with a younger person instead of an older one to avoid confusion.
Moving around the island is very easy, but expensive. Taxis can pick and drop you from airport to hotel, but it is illegal for them to pick someone from the street. Public transport that is available over there is Tuk-Tuks. However, they are very expensive too. A little negotiation over price is required to avail them in budget, but if you are stranded on road in night, then you have no other option to take up. During day, you can avail the bus facility, which connects the major parts of the island and is available for 20 bhats only. You can also avail for motorcycle taxis, but it is for short distances only and would cost you 40 bhats only. You even have the option to hire motorbike on rent for 200 bhats per day.
It is expensive to use foreign SIM card over there. Most preferable thing to do is buy a local SIM card, which costs less than 200 bhats and would be available at any of the 7-Eleven Stores, which has branches all over the island. A Phuket Travel can be very expensive also, so here is a tip to overcome it: You should never purchase anything from the indoor markets without haggling until unless it’s dvds or cds.
A spot of Phuket travel would be of great fun, if you have a little knowledge about the local market as well as the local places
