This is a submerged model which means you get less sediment build up over time which can rust and pollute the tank and system. Would you want to drink water from a tank that was covered with rust sediment? Probably not. That is why it is so important t o insure your hot water tank resists rust build up now and in the future. Finally, the Polaris water heater has an on-board indicator that lets you know what is wrong, and how to fix it. I find that this can be an annoyance at times, but many people enjoy knowing exactly what their hot water heater is doing. The drain and relief valve are made of solid brass so that you never have to worry about rust or breakage. All you have to think about is the clean, fresh water you are getting because you bought a Polaris water heater.
