Pond Fountains
|
Ponds come in different sizes and styles. Some contain fish such as Koi while others are simply a water feature with perhaps some water plants like the water lilies. The most outstanding addition you can make to your pond is to add a fountain. The pool itself can be relaxing and refreshing. Adding a fountain adds another level of tranquility. Getting in touch with nature seems to drain away all that negative energy. The sound of the rippling water, the splash as it hits the pool, the ripple across the pond. Suddenly you feel the negative energy of the day fade away. What type of fountain do you want to install? There are several pond fountain choices. One of my favorites is the floating pond unit that comes ready to install. It supplies the necessary oxygen to your pond but it does it in a decorative manner that will have you enjoying the beauty of the 13 foot spray. At night add the color package and enjoy the perfect illumination. The fountain rings are pretty impressive too with the 80 PVC ring which produces a very interesting visible pattern that can be adjusted by varying degrees to change the patterns dimensions. It really is quite spectacular. There are several different fountain size and you will need to choose the correct pump for the fountain. There are many things to learn before you will understand how to match the pump to the fountain. If you purchase a kit it will likely come with the fountain and if you need to replace the pump at some point in time just choose the same type pump. But if you are building your unit from scratch you need to understand things like 2 wire versus 3 wire, solar pumps vs. electrical, submersible pumps vs. external. You need to also understand about the maximum vertical lift of your pond pump. For example a 4 foot head means the pump is rated to pump water 4 feet high. However that said you would have little water reaching the top. In fact the gallons per hour would be almost zero. If you want to pump 200 ph at a height of 72 inches you will need a 600 gallon per hour pump to do that job. Complicated its okay - your pond and fountain retailer will be happy to assist you in calculating what you need. You should also investigate solar pumps. They do not rely on electricity so that means you can save a bundle on energy costs. The size of your pond will also determine the size of your fountain and the size of your pump. Bigger ponds need bigger fountains. Bigger fountains need bigger pumps. The one thing that is for certain is that your fountain will look fantastic. There is a terrific selection of pond fountains available online. You can save a bundle and you get such a great selection and you never need to leave home to find the perfect fountain.
