Possibly the most important baby supplies you'll ever need

The most important baby supplies that you will need When you are ready to have a baby, there are a couple of things that you need so that you and your child can be comfortable, safe and happy. Here are the top 7 supplies that you should never do without: 1) Onesies These are amazing one-piece, snap crotch articles of clothing that come in different colours, prints and stripes. They are sold virtually everywhere, and they can be either long or short sleeved. They are great because they fit nicely under other clothes if you want your child to be warmer, or they can be worn alone. You can even dress it up a little by adding a cute pair of pants or a skirt for your little girl. 2) Diapers A diaper or a nappy is a sponge-like garment and there are 2 types from which you can choose: disposable and cloth. Disposable diapers include one or more pairs of either adhesive or Velcro tapes to keep the diaper securely fastened. Some of them even include fragrances, lotions or essential oils to help mask the scent of a soiled diaper or to protect the skin. Cloth diapers are reusable and can be made from natural fibres, manmade materials or a combination of both. 3) Sling Slings are great for breastfeeding discreetly and just carrying the baby around. You can also use one sling to carry newborn twins, or as they get older, a double sling which consists of 2 slings. Some people like the padding and in my opinion, it beats the arm strain you can get from holding them around for long periods of time. 4) A place for baby to sleep This is obviously your choice. Whether you choose the crib or in the same bed with you, your baby needs a safe and secure place to sleep where there is minimal hazard posed to your child. 5) First Aid Kit In case of emergency, (and babies are certainly no exception) you should have medicines with you on hand, which could prove to the vital thing in saving your child’s life. Get some infant acetaminophen or ibuprofen, a rectal thermometer and lubricant, first aid cards with emergency tips, numbers of the paediatrician and the local poison control centre, and anything else your doctor recommends. 6) Infant Car Seat This is very important when transporting your baby in the car. The mother or anyone else should not be holding the baby while driving in the car. The best option for the mother to sit in the back (where the car seat should be located) if she feels that she should pay a lot of attention to her baby. 7) Stroller A stroller may not be for everyone, but it is quite convenient. It can allow you the ease of not having to hold your child for long periods and will give you the opportunity to enjoy a cool walk in the park and get some much needed exercise.
