Preventing Acne - Natural Ways To Prevent Acne
|
First of all, it is helpful to know what acne actually is and what can bring it on. Most experts agree that the main cause of acne problems is exaggerated hormonal activity which causes excessive oil to be produced in the skins sebaceous glands. This is the reason acne is so predominant in teenagers who have begun puberty and have raised hormonal activity. The bulk of acne prevention and control treatments utilise benzoyl peroxide in combination with other compounds. These medications can be beneficial but the best solution is by creating some lifestyle alterations that could prevent acne from occurring in the first place. Let's consider several things you can do straightaway in your day to day life that will help acne from starting. Clean Your Skin - One of the best and simplest ways to control acne is by washing your skin. Rather than washing with strong cleaners, just use a gentle soap and water which will get rid of any extra oil or perspiration that has gathered and can clog the skin pores. However you should not be continually washing because this can remove all of the oils that are produced naturally to keep the skin healthy. Doing this can also irritate the skin which can cause acne and also discomfort. Get a Handle On Stress - Although it has not been proven conclusively, people that have trouble with acne have described that the condition gets worse when they feel that there stress levels are elevated. Stress has an effect on hormone production and this may be the reason that acne sufferers say the condition gets worse when they feel "stressed out". Even though it has not been medically proven to cause acne, it is still a good idea however to control your stress levels. Stay Away From Tight Clothing - Several people suffer from acne issues on their back and chest. One way to prevent this is to wear loose clothing. When you wear a tight shirt it can trap perspiration next to the skin. This will irritate the skin and lead to clogging of the pores which can cause acne. You don't have to wear clothing that is hanging off of you. Simply wear a shirt that fits comfortably and does not feel tight. Another tip if you exercise a lot is to not wear headbands and try to avoid any type of headgear or helmets which can cause skin irritation and constriction. Maybe the easiest method to prevent acne is simply by attempting to employ a healthy life-style. Eat healthy foods and try to avoid fatty and processed foods. Additionally, make an effort to avert soaps and cleansing agents that are made with chemicals. Instead use soaps that are gentler on and healthier for your skin. Also, try to stay out of the sun as overexposure to the suns rays is bad for the skin and could even lead to acne. By doing these things and attempting to lead a healthier life you will give yourself the best chance of not having acne issues in the future.
