If you plan on working out during the day you can add a protein shake or protein bar before, during, or after your workout. This will help give you the energy that you need to exercise, as well as the nutrients needed to support the protection and development of your muscle mass. If you are worried about muscle degeneration post-workout then you can take your protein snack within 30 minutes of exercising to stimulate muscle synthesis.
