Psychic or Clairvoyant? What is the Difference Between These Second Sight Abilities

Online information on psychic abilities can be confusing at times; I sometimes get to chat with visitors who ask me “what does it mean to be a psychic?”  And “is there a difference between psychics and clairvoyants?” for me to be able to answer this common question, I will need to touch on intuition, because extra sensory perception can cover wide range of abilities and fields. When people mention the word psychic, they simply refer it to a person who has chosen to live a life exploring spiritual side of life, and to have developed wide range of psychic abilities either from self, or from dedicated teachers.

And clairvoyance is one term describing particular second sight ability. The term clairvoyance originates from seventeenth century French with clair meaning “clear” and voyance meaning “vision” and we need to be thoughtful that, although this term is used around this time frame in history, that doesn’t mean the psychics did not use this ability before that time in history. Those who posses second sight abilities are simply called seers (it is fair to say that French were simply trying to give a label to this phenomena, when they start using the term “clair-voyance”) therefore it is wise to look at extra sensory perception as second sight abilities, in a sense that it is a sight of intuition of human heart

Let me further clarify the terms of clairvoyance that is used in English to day, so we may understand them when we find them on websites who offer psychic services, or psychic readings and the terms are as follows;

Clairvoyant: (precognitive or second-sighted) is when your "third eye" can see beyond what your eyes can see. This power helps you to see people’s auras, guides or guardian angels. You will notice this because you will see vivid images. This is the most common type of spiritual psychic intuition, I think this is why when television shows like "Medium" use it we tend to believe that this is the only type of psychic ability there is. Clairvoyance basically means when you see what is occurring somewhere.

Clairaudient: is the power to “hear” between channels or lines. Sensing through hearing. You will tend to “hear” voices telling you things that actually happen or you hear what you should do.  I don't mean that someone that hears voices may not have a mental condition, some people do. I am only saying without that, this is the spiritual psychic intuition that you have.

Clairkinetic: or Sensing clearly: is the power to “sense” other dimensions; is essentially what we mean when we say “I had a hunch” or “It's a gut feel” It's when you're overcome with a physical sensation and you can't explain it, all you can say is "I just know".

Clairsentient: is the power to “receive” information through impressions. You won't see, listen to it, or feel it. What tends to happen is a certain auditory sensation, whatever it is - it could be anything; a car's honk or a bird's chirping- introduces an intense feeling. Leads you to a certain "knowing".

They say only some people are gifted with second sight abilities. I will totally disagree with that statement, reason being; what really matters is the intensity of inner urge to develop the intuition of heart, and being open minded, and having a wide view point will advance anyone who chooses to develop second sight abilities.
