Punk Hair: Tips For Acquiring That Crazy Look

The music style heavily promoted during the seventies, named punk, translated in a style in clothing, and the way the fans were wearing their hair. Punk music faded in popularity over a while, but the idea of being "punk" still has its adepts and it is more of an attitude than a music genre today. Here are some tips on how to make your hair in punk style, without being confused with emo kids.

The first step would be to dye your hair in a crazy color, like pink, orange, or blue. Keep in mind that these colors are only temporary, and you may need to bleach your hair, so the color can stand out.

Such vibrant colors need maintenance, so you have to care for your hair with adequate shampoos, conditioners and other cosmetic products especially designed for bleached and dyed hair.

Girls and boys can adopt the punk look if they stylish their hair in a certain way. A Mohawk, spikes, or adding some highlights, work well for both genders. A thing that guys may be confronting is that they have to let the hair grow for a while in order to have enough for making spikes out of it. Hair glue, gel and fixative are needed for making the Mohawk stand.

In addition, you must use a flat iron, so the spikes on your head can stay straight, without folding down. Here is another tip: with a blow dryer, and a brush, keep the hair up and brush it then dry it. This should do. If you cannot do it on your own, ask for a friend's advice and assistance.

The best to acquire a great punk look is to have your hair done at a saloon. Professional hair stylists will know exactly how to make your head stand on an end, so to speak. There are many ingredients that you will need to achieve that punk hair and to maintain it. Ask advice among your punk friends and then make your shopping list. Some of these products and items should not lack from your house if you want your punk look to last.

You will need some Elmer's School Glue, that will make your Mohawk stand really straight. A strong version of Aqua Net Hair Spray Ultra Hold also must be on the list, as well as a flat iron that will give you a hand when you want to flatten your hair so it stands really straight up. When you dye your hair, besides the dyes, you will also need some application brushes, so you can spread the color evenly, protective gloves, some metal bowls in which to mix the colors, some cosmetic products designed for heavy duty hair treatment, and a hand held mirror, so you can see your artwork from behind.

In order to avoid a sloppy look, you will need to shave your neck and groom your eyebrows. Also, when dyeing your hair, take care to avoid spreading the dye on all the objects that surround you. The area where you will do your work must be protected with dark towels on the floor and on the objects around, so you do not splash pink or blue spots all over the place.
