Reasons Why Internet Marketers Fail

In my continuing articles about Internet and affiliate marketing, I would like to talk about failure and success in the industry. Success is a thing that often escapes many Internet and affiliate marketers with the end result that they quit the industry} after a not inconsiderable investment of time and energy (to say nothing of cash). So what is the difference between those that fail and those that go on to make a great living at Internet and affiliate marketing? Genius has never been a requirement,there are smart people making a minimum wage existence. Then what is it? What is the reason why people fail to find success in Internet and Affiliate marketing? As I thinkback on my early wins, I consider both the things I did and didn't do that got me where I am today. There have been lots of dollars at times and at others a dribble. Each time I was in the black there was one overarching rational: when I failed it was almost always because I didn't do in that case what I did in the successful case. I did or didn't become an AUTHORITY on my chosen subject matter and niche of the overall industry. Despite what it is: Internet and affiliate marketing of physical products, e-book creation, of digital or software products, or reselling for Amazon or EBay, I learned everything I could about the product AND the market where it was to be sold. And when I didn't, I either failed miserably or made so little profit as to make the effort a Pyrrhic success. My experience has taught me that the pursuit of EXPERTISE in Internet and affiliate marketing is the only way to get the nice cars, the fancy homes, and the "great living" that we are all led to believe is just around the corner. The only way I have found to get there is through MASTERY of the trade of Internet and affiliate marketing. Its as pure and simple as you could imagine. Be the BEST at what you do! They both become airline pilots and make a {very reasonable|great|healthy salary. One, however, continues to become a test pilot, and then astronaut, and finally a Doctor of astrophysics. One remained a generalist or simply a pilot while the other specialized and became an authority in his/her field. Who do you believe made a better income, which became more wealth? The specialist, the AUTHORITY. This is a lesson I have added to everything I do. I do my market research, I apply due diligence to appreciate the terrain where I will be working. In short, I become the expert in my niche. After a certain point in your training, continuing to learn a fraction about email list building or a little about ad copy writing is only going to lead to a VAST hole in your education. To generalize is to court disaster in any field of Internet and Affiliate Marketing. You need to become a pro in the field of the Internet and affiliate marketing industry you find the most beneficial and have the most skill in. The reason why I and others land on our feet is because we stick with what we are good at and improve upon those talents over the years. AND never ever stop learning, talking, and reading about new changes in Internet and affiliate marketing. Where do I become an expert in a field and what field should it be?" Training and education. Training and education is the answer. But you shouldn't let this frighten you because it isn't Astrophysics and anyone can become successful if they just get the right training. So where do I get this training you may be wondering and is it possible there is a "pitch" coming here? I can think of several reputable on-line on-line training companies that train new affiliates (some are inexpensive and some are not). Wealthy Affiliate, in my opinion, is the greatest example of industry training there is. Yes, I get a commission for everyone I sign up to Wealthy Affiliate. But you know what else? I am a general member and I pay my dues just like the rest of the members. This is because I believe in their training and their commitment to the industry of Internet and affiliate marketing. For instance, wealthy affiliate has a whole separate practicum devoted to Pay Per Click marketing and one more on Article Marketing (my chosen area of specialty). These courses are above and beyond the complete content you get as a regular member and they will propel you down the avenue of advanced training and, just incidentally, make you an AUTHORITY. I think it's a rather funny concept: anybody successful in Internet and affiliate marketing can probably make a great deal more money than any Astrophysicist ever will in his/her lifetime. And let's not forget all the schooling you don't have to do for it! Here is the bottom line: With the proper kind of training you will get at Wealthy Affiliate, you will be well on your road to making a super income and to becoming an authority in your field of the industry. Imagine how you will be building financial heath for those 10 years in Internet and affiliate marketing while the new Astrophysicists are...still going to school. Don't delay your future.
