Review of the LG 32LH5000

Reviewing the LG 32LH5000 TV

The LG 32LH5000 is one of LG's low-cost tvs that is to be had in the U. K. This thirty-two inch tv offers 100HZ processing, and 1080 pixels of resolution. It has flexibility in the picture tuning and support for extensive multimedia. The asking price is about 550 pounds for a top performing tv.

While easy on the pocket in price, the LG 32LH5000 TV still offers style to the buyer. It has subtle curves, a bright and gleaming finish and is aesthetically appealing. There is black bezel surrounded by a transparent lip that extends beyond the bezel and looks great from all angles.

There are many connections available on the LG 32LH5000 to ensure connectivity. In addition to the four HDMI ports, the USB port allows for playback of audio, JPEG and DivX video films. The RS-232 port allows the tv to be integrated with an AV system.

The 100 Hz processor is twice that offered by most other television sets in the same price range. This additional refresh rate will allow the LG 32LH5000 to overcome the motion blur that is found in many of these sets.

When browsing thought the menus on the LG 32LH5000, you are going to find two presets for the pictures that have been labeled ISF. ISF or Image Science Foundation offers an in home service to calibrate sets that have sufficient flexibility, as this set has. This is a fee service.

The LG 32LH5000 does offer extensive adjustments. Among those adjustments are dynamic colour, noise reduction, gamma presets and contrast boosters. The strength of the 100 Hz processor can also be varied.

For the technologically challenged, LG has installed a method of making all these adjustments available through a picture wizard on the LG 32LH5000 that guides the user through a series of test strengths that gets your picture looking its best.

If you must have a tv that offers the blackest of black in contrast, the LG 32LH5000, like many other LCD televisions, cannot offer it. The set is about average in its black response levels. The problem like with other LCD sets is worse when the viewing angle is larger than 40 degrees. This can cause some problems in dark scenes.

Still, there are many good points to the LG 32LH5000 TV. The pictures are extremely bright and colours are very rich. Screen movements are very clear.

The LG 32LH5000 is very light in weight, weighting less than thirteen kilograms, including the stand. Sets may be mounted on wall or used as tabletop versions.

LG even has improved the sound for the LG 32LH5000 TV. The use of the Clear Voice processing allows the voices to be heard in a natural tone. Voices are also easily understood. There is no tinny sound to this tv.

The LG 32LH5000 TV has a 60, 000 hour lifespan according to LG. That is six years, nine months of constant operation, twenty four hours daily. This is not a set that is just going to last a couple of years and then have to be discarded.

The LG 32LH5000 TV will prove to be a good tv at a very good price. Its only problem is the poorish sound quality one that is inherent to all flat screen tvs, and it offers a great set at a value price.
