Sara Pezzini and Witchblade

Sara Pezzini is the main character in the Witchblade TV series, comic book series and feature film, soon to be released. In the popular TV version, which ran for two seasons, Yancy Butler played the role of Sara Pezzini. The whole Witchblade storyline centers on Sara Pezzini, who is a NYPD homicide detective whose life is drastically changed when she comes into contact with the Witchblade, an ancient weapon.

Born on November 18, 1970, Sara Pezzini is of Italian descent and has several enemies. One notable enemy is Kenneth Irons, a guy that she briefly dated before finding out that he has a truly evil nature. Another huge enemy is Ian Nottingham. Although she is not a total genius, Sara Pezzini has an IQ that is above average and is extremely athletic. She has extensive police training in tactics, weapons and hand to hand combat. In short, you probably do not want to run into her in a dark alley if you are a bad guy.

As one of the main wielders of the Witchblade, Sara Pezzini has been endowed with many special powers, including the ability to heal herself, create armor over her body (whenever she uses the Witchblade, it rips off all of her clothes), extend very sharp tendrils, fly with wings and shoot energy blasts. Although Sara Pezzini has been in possession of the Witchblade for several years, she still has yet to explore everything that it can do for her. When not in use, the Witchblade looks like a bracelet, so nobody suspects that she has the mystic weapon.

In the Witchblade TV series, Sara Pezzini does not have quite all of the powers that she does in the comic book series. One notable difference between the two medias is that in the TV show, she can use the Witchblade to slow (or even stop and turn back) time. Sara Pezzini can also use the Witchblade to talk to her dead NYPD partner, Danny Woo.

In the TV show, it was revealed that Sara Pezzini was not just adopted, as was previously thought. Instead, she was stolen from her natural mother when she was a baby, and it has been hinted that Sara Pezzinis real last name is Connor. Sara Pezzini had a love interest in the series, Conchobar, a musician and mysterious possible reincarnation of Concobar mac Nessa.
