When you have scavies you will suffer from severe itching that takes place in various areas on your body. Many people assume they have some type of rash or allergic reaction when that itching starts. They may try different types of topical ointments in order to seek relief. Most of the time scavies are transmitted through sexual intercourse but that isn't always the case. Being in close contact with someone or sharing clothing can also result in these parasites moving from one person to another. It isn't possible for you to get them from your pets or to transfer the parasites to them. While you can't see the scavies on your skin, you will definitely be able to see that they exist. The skin with do much more than itch. You will break out with what appears to be a very red rash. As the parasites continue to develop under the skin bumps and blisters can also form on the outer layers of skin. They will be hot to the touch and the areas around them very tender. While you can get an outbreak due to scavies on any part of the body, there are certain locations that are more common. They include the creases and crevices of the body including the insides of the fingers and toes, the wrists, and the folds of your knees and elbows. Most of the time they will also be found around the genitals and the buttocks. In order to get rid of scavies you want to take to your doctor. They will likely prescribe a type of medication that kills mites. The first goal is to eliminate all of these parasites and their eggs from forming under the skin. You will apply it at night and then wash it off in the morning. There are also oral medications that seem to work faster and without the mess. You will need to wash all of your bedding too in hot water to make sure they are gone from those sources as well. About The Author: |
