Scotts Fertilizer - Picking the Right Fertilizer

If you want to have a lawn that looks wonderful, you'll have to do a whole lot more than just mow it occasionally and turn the sprinkler system on. Sure, this is part of your lawn care, but finding the right fertilizer is important as well. One excellent brand of fertilizer is Scotts fertilizer but you will find that there are a variety of different types of fertilizer that are offered by Scotts, so it is important that you figure out which type of Scotts fertilizer is going to be the best choice for your lawn care.

Tip #1 - Use Fertilizer to Eliminate Weeds - First of all, you are going to need to consider what you are planning to do with the fertilizer. If you are planning to use the fertilizer to help eliminate the weeds that are in your lawn, then you'll need to pick out a special type of Scotts fertilizer that will have weed killer in it so that it can kill of the weeds that are in your lawn. You see, the weeds not only look horrible, but they also take the nutrients away from your grass. So, if you get rid of the weeds with the right fertilizer, you'll be more likely to be able to have the green a luscious lawn that you've been trying to grow.

Tip #2 - Different Fertilizers for Different Seasons - Another tip to keep in mind when you're trying to figure out which Scotts fertilizer is going to be the right choice for you is that you are going to need a different type of fertilizer depending on the season that it is. You see, when it is spring time, you should use a fertilizer that is designed for spring. Summers bring hot weather and you'll want to use a special fertilizer to make sure that your lawn does not get burnt. There are other fertilizers available for other seasons as well.

Tip #3 - Consider Your Children - When you are trying to choose the right Scotts fertilizer you may want to consider your children. It may not be a great idea to let your children play in a lawn that has been treated with certain types of fertilizers. There are organic fertilizers available that will help you make sure that your children are safe, even if they are playing outside on the lawn.
