Choosing the right sewing machine from the first time can be quite a hurdle, especially if you are totally inexperienced with such tools. Now, that you are very convinced to buy a sewing machine, you have started to look around to see what kind of models are available for sale on the market. It will be enough to make your head spin really fast: there are so many brands and models, that you will not know which one to choose. The best advice that you can get is to take a moment and think: what kind of features interest you? This will narrow your search criteria and you will have less pains in choosing the best sewing machine for your purpose. Brands are a part of the choosing process, there is no use in denying that. Among the most popular brands, we can mention Brother and Singer, and you may have heard of them even before getting interest in sewing and sewing machines. There are, also, other brands, that do not have the same reputation, like Janome and Juki. We suggest to do not let yourself influenced by the brand; instead, search for the one model that has all the features that you need integrated in the same machine. Here is a tip: choose a Simplicity sewing machine, if you are a beginner in sewing, as it is very portable, it works with batteries and it has all the basic options you may need. The next level of users may prefer a low level Singer sewing machine. These machines will provide you with very useful features, like help in creating different garments, crafts or decorations. Quilting cannot be performed on low end machines, so, if this is your hobby, then you will need to move further and search for some high end machines that can get the job done. You will be amazed to find out that there are machines that can be connected to a computer and use designs available on websites. The price of the sewing machine is an important issue. A cheap one can cost you around $100, but this is a very basic model; for a very competitive machine, you will need to dig after thousands of dollars in your pocket. If you are just a beginner, we think that you should buy a basic model, instead of one with tones of features; but if you consider that you will need those features later on, you may need to buy one machine that does it all. Remember: your purpose is very important; if you want to make complicated designs, choose a high end machine, but if you only need the machine for the basics, buy a low level machine. Anyway, you will be able to find just the right machine for you, if you keep this particular aspect in mind.
