Shell Earrings You Can Make Yourself
|
When you are choosing your shells for your shell earrings, you will want to make sure that you choose a size that you will be comfortable wearing. Any shells that are too big will weigh down your ears, and no one that wears earrings likes that feeling. So first choose the shells, and try to make sure that you have too that are remotely similar so that you will have a matching pair. After you have chosen the shells for the shell earrings, you will be ready to clean the shells and get them ready to make earrings out of. Be sure that you rub the shell down with rubbing alcohol to get them the cleanest, and you will be ready to get started with the next step. If you are wanting to add glitter to your shell earrings, now will be the time to do that. Add some clear glue to the places that you want glitter on your shells, and you would then sprinkle glitter over the shells for a sparkly glittery effect. The next step will be glue the post to the back of the shell. You will need to know which side of the shell will be the front of the earring, and which one will be the back of the earring. This will determine where you are going to glue the post on that will go through your ear when you wear the earrings. Once you have glued the post onto the shell, you should let the shell earrings dry as long as recommended on the glue bottle. Once they are dry, you will be ready to put the earrings on and wear them. You will love wearing your new earrings, and everyone that sees them will want a pair as well. You can also make a pair of chandelier shell earrings if you want to. You will need many small shells and some jewelry making wire. You would then have to also add clasp to the shells so that you can get them attached to the wire as well. Use your imagination when you are making jewelry and you will have such creative pieces that no one else has every thought of making.
