Shiba Inu Dog - A Delightful Breed
|
The Shiba Inu dog almost became extinct due to the famine and war around the world. They were replaced by faster hunting dogs. Today there are breeders all over the world that strive to keep the strong genetics of the Shiba Inu dog in place. The numbers continue to increase and they are the most common type of dog found in Japan. Many people in the United States like them due to their size and unique features. They feature a plush coat that is gorgeous as well as easy to take care of. They offer a variety of colors including black or tan. For a smaller breed, the Shiba Inu dog is one that is extremely bold. They are sharp dogs and have a great sense of both smell and sound. They are independent but they also crave affection. They have a confidence about them that is very intriguing and they will fight off larger dogs if they feel they or their owner is threatened. They are very fast dogs as well so they can run and be trained to do a variety of great tricks. It is best to train a Shiba Inu dog from an early age about who is boss though. They form habits early so you want to teach them what you wish they would do. Don't put off housebreaking or other limitations for them until they are older or they will already have many bad habits to break. Should you get an adult Shiba Inu dog you will find it extremely difficult to change their ways. Full grown, this breed of dog won't be more than about 20 pounds. They are extremely healthy as a breed which is another reason why people tend to enjoy them as pets. They don't need too much room to be comfortable in so they are perfect for someone with a small house or an apartment. They are generally indoor dogs though so if you want one for outdoors, a Shibu Inu dog isn't going to be a good match. You do need to make sure yours gets some daily exercise though. Make it a habit to take a watch each day with them. In fact, you will find the more exercise they get the happier they seem to be. If you enjoy long walks this is the dog to do it with because they have plenty of endurance. A Shibu Inu dog is easy to care for and they don't require very much grooming. Their coat stays clean so only brush it about once every two weeks to remove debris. You don't want to bathe them too often either or it will remove the essential oils from their coat.
