The opposite point in the west is called the descendant. the ascendant is traditionally placed as the left-hand side point of the chart, in creating a horoscope. This gives with the term rising sign, the sign of the zodiac, that was rising in the east at the exact time that the horoscope is calculated.

Midheaven is the point on the ecliptic that is the farthest to the horizon. The opposite point is called imum coeli. Events that happens when the planes and horizons coincide are in a limiting position at 90 degrees from the ascendants.

For Chinese, horoscopes are based on the symbolism of the Chinese Zodiac. It is a system of elements and animals that are linked with each year according to the sexagenary cycle.

Whether horoscopes are real or not, it does a great help in one sense. Certainly for people who wanted to be enlightened, the choice of sticking with it is not at all a bad idea. After all, the end depends on the person himself, to believe or not to believe.
