Fuel prices may fluctuate wildly over time, but there is one fact that is fairly obvious to everyone: they are going to remain too high for comfort. For this reason, many people have been looking into small motorcycles for driving around town and relatively short distances. The advantages of small motorcycles are obvious in a lot of ways. They are generally less expensive than larger motorcycles and automobiles; they are much lighter than other types of motor vehicles so they consume significantly less fuel. As high as fuel costs are, this can mean a real savings each month, even if you have to use a larger vehicle for more long distance driving.

Before rushing out and buying small motorcycles to help save money and stop pollution, the general public would be wise to first do some research. Though it is fairly easy to learn how to ride one of these small vehicles, there are things to learn besides just how to start, go, change gears, and stop. It helps to keep in mind that you will be on the road with much larger and much heavier vehicles; ones that are also much easier to see than your little two-wheeler. The best thing to do is to assume that other drivers cannot see you, and act accordingly. Keep a respectable distance from other vehicles on the road if possible, and use hand signals when turning and stopping anything to help you be better noticed.

Small motorcycles are great for saving money and space; and as long as you realize that slightly different rules apply when you are driving one on the road, you should be able to be perfectly safe using one. Youll definitely love the fuel savings that you see each month. Try to negotiate for the best price if buying a brand new one, and if buying used, be sure to purchase from a reputable party.
