Spam Protection - Tips for Protecting Your Inbox from Smap
|
Tip #1 - Don't Preview Messages - First of all, if you are interested in spam protection, you will definitely want to avoid previewing the messages that are in your inbox. Many email options today let you preview messages before you open them. Even if you don't open the message but you do preview it, you can be just as vulnerable. So, you should take the time to get rid of the preview option if you have it. Tip #2 - Use Plain Text for Email - When it comes to spam protection, another important tip that can help to keep you safe is to use plain text for your email. You can choose to have plain text when you read your email. Often Javascript is used by spammers in order to put malicious code into the spam that they send. So, start reading the email in plain text and you'll save yourself some problems. Tip #3 - Don't Allow Phisher's to Get You - Don't allow those Phisher's out there to get to you. This is one of the most important tips for spam protection. You'll find that many spammers are able to hoax you, making you think that you are getting an email from a company. Often they take you to a site that looks real and they ask for your personal information. It's important that you are aware of these phishing scams and that you avoid them carefully. Tip #4 - Avoid Responding to Spam - You should definitely avoid responding to spam if you want spam protection. If you respond to it, you are going to have even more problems. This will confirm that this is a real email address, which means they'll probably begin to send even more spam to your box. So, make sure that you never reply to the spam messages, even to try to get them to stop spamming you. About The Author: |
