Pick Out a Great Scent First of all, you need to pick out a great scent for your spray bottle air freshener that you plan on making. Check out various essential oils, which can be fond in vitamin stores as well as a few of the grocery stores out there. You can also find the oils online, but you may want to be able to smell them yourself. Find some scents that you really love and then pick out the one that you want. Usually you'll only pay about $5 -7 for an entire bottle of the essential oil that you need, which you'll be able to use over and over again. You'll Need Distilled Water Once you have your scent all picked out and purchased, you are going to need to have some distilled water to put into the spray bottle that you are using. Make sure that you have enough of the distilled water that you can fill the spray bottle about three fourths of the way full. Then you can several drops of essential oil into the water. If you want something that is invigorating, consider lemon or orange. However, if you are going with something that is a bit more on the calming side, then lavender is a great choice for you. Shake Together After you have the essential oil added to the distilled water in the spray bottle, make sure that you close up the bottle tightly. Shake the bottle lightly, but enough to make sure that the essential oil is distributed throughout the bottle. Every time you use the air freshener that you have made, you should shake it up to make sure that the oils are distributed throughout all of the water and you get the scent throughout. Enjoy Your Spray Bottle Air Freshener After you have totally created your new spray bottle air freshener, now it is time to make use of it. You can spray it in various rooms in your home, spray out your car to make it smell better, or even spray it on sheets for a wonderful smell when you go to bed at night. If you need a bit more scent, make sure that you add a bit more oil to the water for a stronger scent. If the scent is overpowering, then make sure that you add some more water to dilute it a bit.
