Spring Wreaths: Easy to make templates

Fresh bunches of just picked flowers of Magnolia, Hydrangea and Rose can liven up any living room and act as a lovely show piece when required. The sight of fresh flowers, whether in a bouquet, vase or in a garden can refresh people and their faint aroma can be very relaxing. Plus the dash of color they bring in an otherwise colorless room can work wonders with our mood. And thus, think how wonderful it would be to replicate those same feelings with a flowery spring wreath placed on your door.

Spring is around the corner and love is in the air. As such, to prepare it's time to get together springs best messengers and put them together in an ivy wreath, bound to become the envy of the best bouquet.

Materials required:

One straw base of 12 inches (or 14 inches)

Silk or artificial ivy

Some gray moss

Some beige raffia

A hot glue gun

Clear glue sticks

Two packages of wooden floral picks

Craft clippers

Wreath hanger (if you desire)

Step 1: Put the wreath base and pour hot glue lightly all over it. Press down the moss, without burning your fingers. Do the same for the outer and inner rims.

Step 2: Make ivy picks by clipping different lengths of ivy and wiring them to the wooden picks. Now place the ivy picks with the outer rim of the wreath, in a strategic manner so that the wreath looks full. For best effect place them at varying angles. Similarly place ivy picks on the inner rim. You could also add some glue to the ivy pick before attaching it to the base, so that it stays on well.

In between, place the wreath on the wall (or make someone hold it up against the wall). Put more ivy whenever you want and fill moss in nooks and crevices.

Step 4: lastly, before hanging up your wreath, take some of the raffia strings and tie bows in five or less places on the wreath to add some liveliness. Now place the wreath on a door nail and cover up the nail with moss or raffia as well. Ensure it does not fall. If you're hanging it inside, then take a few long strings of the raffia and tie them around the top of the wreath, making a double know with the ends of the strings. Ensure that the knot is positioned just below the interior rim at the top and covered with moss of raffia. Now you have a little loop to hang the wreath.
