Starting a Home Business in Your Spare Time - It's Possible!

I know time is limited for most people. We all havebusy schedules....day job, school, kids, errands, favorite TVshows....the list goes on and on. This can be a hindrance for manypeople who are really wanting to start a home business, but feel likethey just don't have enough time.

If this sounds like you, Ithink I may be able to change your mind. But not for my benefit, foryours. If you begin to realize that you can easily begin building ahome business without turning your life around, maybe you will decide to give it a try.

Buildinga home based business is a progressive journey. It's all about takingsteps, no matter how small, on a regular basis. Step by step.....yourbusiness will grow. Every hour, half hour, or even just ten minutes, isan investment. What kind of investment? A time investment, andinvestment that will grow each and every day by just adding a littlebit to it.

"Well I don't have an hour a day...I don't have half an hour...I don't even have ten minutes!!!" Doesthis sound like you? It sure sounds like a lot of people that Iencounter. Usually I will get to talking with them for a few minutesand can see that THEY DO have the time, but it's just hiding in otherplaces. Where is their time hiding? Well I usually find a few hours ofit in the television, I find another hour in the latest "People"magazine, I find some of it left over from the day before (when theyfell asleep an hour early), and I usually find some in the morning (the'snooze' button seems to hoard a lot of time!) And this list of placesI find people's time goes on and on...chatting on the phone, aimlesslybrowsing the Net, and a lot that seems like it is being used, but ittoo is being spent on 'busy' work that shouldn't have such highpriority.

Often the amount of time that people find is way morethan enough to start up that home business, and they had that supplyall along. Here is a key thing to keep in mind. Spending time andinvesting time are not the same thing...in fact they aren't even close. We each have the same 24 hours a day. We own it, it's ours...we can dowith it what we please. Time spent, whether it be on busy work, to muchentertainment, to much sleep, or even just the old "killing time"syndrome, is time that is gone forever. You spent it...it's gone, andyou can't get it back!

With time fleeting without cease, what canwe do to harness it and use it for our benefit? Well here we come backto that word again...INVESTMENT. You invest your money so that it works for you, right? Everyone knows the importance of this. Money can be used to make <more money. You don't spend it never to see it again. You use it like a tool, and later down the road you reap many rewards from doing so.

Idoubt that anyone would say that investing money is a bad idea...butwhat about investing time? Well, just like money, once it's spent it isgone forever. But also like money, when you invest it in the right way,it will pay you and work for you for many years to come. And that isexactly what you do when you decide to start a home business. Youinvest your time, and investment that will pay you over and over formany years.

Seems pretty simple right?Well I can say from personal experience that it is. When I decided tobuild a home based business, I thought I was the busiest 23 year oldaround. College, girlfriend, work, errands to run, people to see...youget the point. It wasn't until I really decided to look for extra timethat I began finding it. I found some in the morning, some before bed,a lot in the TV, and even more in things that seemed important (butwere really just busy work.) I felt pretty foolish when I had found 3-4hours a day that were being spent with no return or long term benefit.3-4 hours that I now INVEST in building a business that will give methe freedom to escape the "rat-race," before I even truly enter into it.

Buildinga home business can be one of the greatest things that you do for yourfuture. And you can build one, gradually, with the time that is beingleft unused all over the place. Take a small percentage of your timeand invest it, just as you would do with your money. Just like moneythat is invested, it pays dividends for years and years.
