1. Start by turning off the water. Your valve should be located underneath the sink. Shower shut offs are sometimes found in an adjoining closet. If there is no individual shut offs you will need to shut your main water source off.2. Open all the taps to let the water that is in the lines drain off. Once there is no more water draining off you can begin your disassembling.3. If you have a diagram of your faucet you should have it out now. You will need to take the existing faucet apart and you need to lay out all the parts in the exact order you remove them.6. Do your repair.7. Put the faucet back together.8. Check the faucet by opening the faucet and turning on the water. Once there is no air in the line you can turn the faucet off. A compression faucet gets a slightly different process. 1. Perhaps there is no problem with the existing handles and you just want to change the handles for a new look following the steps above will accomplish that task.
