On one outing she found termites in large numbers and they captured her attention. Sukanya was also very curious and so you found this new insect fascinating. What she didn't realize is that a man by the name of Chyavana who was a hermit was under the pile of termites. He had been meditating and they crawled all over him. Sukanya poked the pile of termites with a stick and ended up poking out one of his eyes. Chyvana was enraged by it and vowed to kill Sukanya. Her father and the rest of the family begged for his forgiveness but he refused to give it. Finally, the father asked instead of killing Sukanya if Chyvana would marry her. This way he could appease the man and also not lose his precious daughter. He hoped her beauty and kindness would one day help this man to be better than he was now. Sukanya was a very warm and loving wife. In spite of the meanness of Chyvana and his ugly appearance she did her best to keep them both happy. Her spirit couldn't be broken in spite of such difficult living arrangements. Cynvana never did treat her bad though, and he did give her plenty of room to be on her own. He was used to being alone and spent most of his time meditating. One day Sukanya was spending time in the water, allowing the coolness of it to give her some relief from the hot sun. She was being watched by two young men, twins, that found her to be very fascinating as she splashed around with delight in the water. They asked for her hand in marriage but she told them she was with Cynvana. They offered to allow him to look like him and she could choose only one of them. He agreed to the prospect and so the three of them went into the water. The twins and Cynvana emerged and all looked the same. They were all shocked when Sukanya was able to pick out Cynvana anyway. At that point he realized the intelligence and beauty of this young lady he was married to. He made up his mind to spend the rest of his life making her happy. He was also glad that he would be able to keep his new body that was very attractive. When he asked Sukanya how she was able to recognize him, she told him he was the only one with footprints. The twins were sons of a god and had exceptional speed. They were also very light so they don't leave any prints in the sand. Sukanya and Cynvana had a very happy life together from then on.
