Hardwood floors get cracked just by the simple process of expanding and contracting throughout the year. Even in one given day the floorboards in your home can change shape a lot. The gaps that are caused and the small cracks can cause all manner of different kinds of squeaks. Here are a couple of good ways to deal with squeaks in your hardwood floor. Repair cracks as soon as possible and you will keep them from getting worse: Add lubricationBy lubing up the area where the squeaks are emanating from you may be able to lessen the squeaks if not eliminate them altogether. Wax the trouble spotIf you see a crack it may be a good idea to fill it with wax. This is a great way to get rid of your problem once and for all and it is cheap and easy to do. You will not have to get a specialist to come in and do this for you, you can get it done yourself in just a couple of seconds. If all else fails replace that sectionIf all else fails and nothing seems to be helping your hardwood floor repair cracks by getting rid of the cracked piece f wood. Get a new floorboard for that section and refinish it to match the rest of the room. This is a much more extreme method and one that is more costly but in some cases it is the only solution to a terrible problem.
