Teacup Poodle

The Teacup Poodle is a very cute breed of dog, and one that many people enjoy owning. They definitely get plenty of attention out there and that is part of the fun of owning one. You can carry it around with you and baby it like you would a small child. There are plenty of types of clothing for your Teacup Poodle as well. With the females you can even put cute bows in their hair above the ears.

The Teacup Poodle isn't a bred of its own but one that has been developed by breeders. They continue to breed the smallest of them so that they can have these smaller dogs. Most of them won't weigh more than five pounds when they are full grown. Don't be surprised if you get one that doesn't weigh more than three pounds though. They are very smart animals but they do require a great deal of attention. They are also indoor dogs so don't place such an animal outdoors to live.

Due to the small size of the Teacup Poodle, you do have to be extremely careful with them. They can be injured or killed if they fall off your bed or other furniture. You also have to be careful not to step on them. When you are moving all over the house to clean it or for other needs you may want to kennel your Teacup Poodle for its own protection. Teach your pet to be calm when people are walking around too so they don't cause someone else to fall trying to avoid stepping on them.

Your Teacup Poodle won't eat very much which does make it a very affordable pet. Be careful though from the very start to only feed it quality dog food though. If you pamper this breed of dog with table foods then it won't eat anything that it should. Since they don't consume very much food at all that can prevent them from getting the nutritional values the need to be healthy.

One downside to owning a Teacup Poodle though is the risk they have of serious health problems. You will need to find a veterinarian that is able to offer them the care they need. Routine checkups are necessary to help identify any problems that may arise. You should also get insurance for your Teacup Poodle from the start. That way if yours ends up needing expensive care you won't find it to be such a huge burden on your wallet.
