Motor Accidents are Top Cause of Death for TeensAccording to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, today the leading cause of death for teens that are age 15-20, car crashes are the top cause of death, which is a real tragedy. Some reports show that about 50% of teens are reporting that they have gone out driving after drinking, which is a statistic that is quite staggering. Not only are teens getting behind the wheel drunk today, but they are also getting behind the wheel when they are going puberty and also dealing with a whole lot of peer pressure as well. This is all leading to motor accidents being a top cause of death when it comes to teens today. Alcohol is Often the ProblemsThe main reason that so many teens are being involved in vehicle accidents today is because of alcohol. Many teens are drinking alcohol at least once a month and unfortunately, many of them are climbing behind the wheel as well. Limiting the access of alcohol to teens would definitely be one way that we could work today to control this problem with teens drunk driving. Legal ConsequencesWhen it comes to teens drunk driving, there are some legal consequences that can even go on to cause them problems when they are adults as well. Some of the problems that can occur include heavy fines, education for alcohol consumption, having drivers licenses revoked, probation, and possible jail time as well if the offense is severe enough. We are having too many problems today with teens drunk driving and many parents never even realize that their children are actually involved in drinking alcohol. So, it is important today that we raise awareness of this problem so that we can prevent more teenage deaths.
