The Best Premium Programming on Satellite TV

Satellite TV offers more exclusive and premium programming than any other entertainment medium.  Sure, it may not have millions of uploaded videos like YouTube, but when it comes to professional entertainment it does offer literally hundreds of channels and thousands of hours of laughs, cries and thrills.

What are some of the exciting things happening on satellite TV these days? There’s a lot to laugh about in comedy for the months of February and March and it’s all on satellite TV Pay-Per-View.  Did you love John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby?  Then you have got to see Step Brothers, the R-Rated comedy that brings you the uncut and uncensored antics of two quarreling step-siblings.  The Hollywood mock-buster Tropic Thunder starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. certainly made some people laugh…in fact, Robert Downey Jr. was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his black/white performance.

Whether Downey Jr. actually shows up at the Oscars wearing black face remains to be seen.  (Don’t count on it)  Disaster Movie is another comedy hit and lampoons a bunch of movie clichés, though the only reason people do watch is to see the trash-talking, karate chopping panda bear. If you’re interested in more serious fare, but nothing too dreary as Don Cheadle’s Traitor (Also premiering on satellite TV) then tune into WALL-E.  Make no mistake about it, though WALL-E was snubbed big time by the Academy Awards this year, this movie made more money and made more critics’ Top 10 list than any other film in 2009 except maybe The Dark Knight.  WALL-E was a rare achievement and one that only Pixar seems capable of pulling off—a movie that appeals to both a child’s whimsy and a parent’s sensibility.

If you’re looking for original programming that you can’t get anywhere else, then satellite TV offers plenty of it.  One of satellite TV’s most popular channels is the 101 Network, which features original series like Wonderland, live sporting events like UFC 94: Countdown and cutting-edge comedies like The Whitest Kids You Know.  Two unique movie features are Maltin Minutes, hosted by esteemed movie critic Leonard Maltin, as well as The Scorsese Selection hosted by Academy-Award-winning director Martin Scorsese of The Departed and Goodfellas fame.

The best reason to order satellite TV may well be the incredible sports packages that it offers.  Satellite TV offers sports packages for every professional league, including the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR and others.  Not only do these packages bring you out-of-market game coverage (literally hundreds of games a season) but they also bring you new age goodies like game mixing (eight games on one screen) and mobile phone highlights.  If you are interested in premium TV at its best then look to one of the two top providers of satellite TV.  DirecTV has proven to be the most successful company and is currently offering special deals on sign-ups for the months of February and March.  Why buy D-TV when you get premium TV for just a few dollars a month?
