The Caste Clashes

Last month Delhi along with Rajasthan and UP and many other states witnessed the never stopping fire set apart by the spark of reservation bills. This reservation issue appears to be quite frustrating but not for those who play the shrewd game of power and politics to make a special place for their own in the economy.

Obviously all these bandhs, strikes and public rallies affect the lives of the common people to a much greater extent, consequently making the living more difficult. During these social presentations, people are unable to travel freely and face problems such as rising prices and unavailability of daily use items.

As per these caste equations, Indian society has been classified in four categories. But as far as my knowledge is concerned I have come across people struggling to survive in this reservation wars and striving to establish an identity of their own. As far as my experience is concerned, I know number of students who face this class discrimination. Despite of them being intelligent and impressive in marks they achieved in their board examination, they are unable to get admissions in good and reckoned colleges. The reason- well they are not from any reserved quota…..

Once I went to my mother’s place in Allahabad, where I met a coolie who pursued his masters in science and was not able to get a government job just because he was a Brahmin. “Frustrating” is the word that strikes my mind, watching people with so many abilities and a lot of talent striving hard to earn living.

I have even got to know about people who are buying fake SC certificates, and infact there are a number of people I know in person who have spent quite a lot of money to get these fake certificates. Who cares that the certificates are faked and the mark sheets are manipulated. Even the authorities are aware all these facts but how is it important too. The govt. is just concerned about the reservation purely for the sake of politics mind games.

No one was worried when the medical students at AIIMS were at an indefinite strike against these reservation bills, actually no one either bothers to rule out something that works in favor of people who are able. Age restrictions are ruled out to remove a capable AIIMS director, but what about over-aged politicians still running the company????? They actually never retire.

It is not that the Indian population is not aware of all this. The fact of the matter is that the common people are so busy in earning their regular bread and butter that they don’t have time to raise voice…Sheer politics.
