When you purchase hardwood floors, you have the option of purchasing finished or unfinished hardwood floors. However, there are some disadvantages as well as advantages that you should consider when you are looking to purchase hardwood floors that are not finished.

An advantage of purchasing unfinished hardwood floors is that they are cheaper. The reason, that hardwood floors that are not finished are cheaper, is simply because they are not finished. While you may think that this will save you money in the long run, you should continue to read through the advantages or disadvantages.

Having the option of staining your floors any color that appeals to you, gives you more choices to choose from, and you will love your hardwood floors even more.

So maybe you are not a do it yourself kind of person, then you would find having to finish your unfinished hardwood floors more work than it is worth. You should weight the pros and cons of this job before you start it, and decide wether or not it is something that you really want to take on. Once you have decided, you will want to be sure that you do research so that you are able to do the job yourself. Maybe calling in a professional is more your style. Whichever you decide, you will love your hardwood floors once they are finished.
