The Earring Standards for Men Have Changed Over Time
|
It used to be that in the 80's if a man was wearing an earring in his right ear, he was thought to be gay. This is no longer the case because the earring standards for men have surely changed. No one is really quite sure why this was something that only men that were gay would wear, but many believed it to be true. Now days, you will see men with earrings in both ears as well as one in the right or even the left ear, and this is not meant to mean a thing. Many work places have started even accepting the earring standards for men as well. More and more places of employment are allowing men to wear earrings to work, and no one is looking at it as a big deal. While some young people might read this and not believe their eyes, it was a big deal at one time. Men were made to leave their earrings at home and were not allowed to wear them while they were in their work place, and on the time clock for the company. While some businesses are allowing the earring standards for men to change, there are still some that will require men to not wear earrings while they are at work. Of course this also depends on the type of job that one might have. For instance, if you were a man that was employed by a piercing and tattoo parlor, you would not be required to remove your jewelry from your ears before coming to work. However, if you were a bank employee, you might be looking at a different story all together. Some places will even require men and women alike to be sure that all tattoos are covered as well so that the customers can not see them. The earring standards for men have come a long way. You see many men with earrings in both ears, and some times even one in either ear alone. You find them wearing studs as well as hoops and some might even take their earrings a step farther. Earrings are a personal choice, and if a man wants to wear earrings, by all means, wear them. About The Author: Gil is an artist and a professional writer for last 15 years.
