The Fastest Ways To Save A Relationship

If your relationship is in trouble and may end up in a break up., you need to take action fast! There are ways to turn things around, and a split doesn't have to be inevitable, but you will need to make an effort. Taking a complacent approach is sure to end in disaster, but with these steps, you can save your relationship and put it back on solid ground.

1. Say you are sorry. More relationships break up as the result of arguments, misunderstandings, and pride than anything else. Understand that a disagreement is seldom only one person's fault, but it also takes two to fight, and the faster you take responsibility for your part by saying, "I'm sorry," the quickerthe issue will be resolved and the wounds will begin to heal.

2. Change some habits. If you're doing something you absolutely know drives the other person crazy, just knock it off already! Think about which is more important, the relationship or having your way on this one specific thing. Do you really have to sleep with the window open at night? Is it worth sleeping by yourself? Or could you give in on this one little thing? If it's something really serious like going to the bar all the time without your significant other-which makes him or her suspect you're up to something more than socializing-stop it immediately or you're only dooming your relationship.

3. Compromise. If going out with the guys every Friday night is a deal breaker, why not negotiate for every other Friday night and commit to doing what your significant other wants to do on the alternate Friday nights. If you really don't want to go to the football game with him, but you do want to spend time together, buck up and grab that foam finger and be his number one fan, even if you really don't care about the game itself. All relationships are a balance of give and take, and maybe it's time you were on the giving side.

4.Listen up and say something! Many relationships die a slow death because the people involved don't feel loved and appreciated, noticed and nurtured. When you first started dating, you took note of the things you liked about the other person and the things they did for you-and you spoke words of appreciation. You noticed things like hair cuts and new shoes and home-cooked dinners or coming home early from work-and you complimented your loved one accordingly. So why did you stop? Get back to this habit and watch your love react positively.

5.Take weekend getaway. Even if you just travel to the next town and check into a motel for a few days, time spent together and alone is vital to your relationship. You need time to focus exclusively on each other-without friends, family members, children, dogs, jobs, and household chores all vying for your attention. Show your loved one that they are your number one priority by dropping everything and taking off together for a getaway.
