The Increased Popularity of Rappers and Rap Music

Rap music has greatly increased in popularity and a large amount of that popularity can be attributed to the rappers that are behind the music. Rap music is popular among a wide variety of individuals. The popularity of rap music is felt in all different races and in all different age groups.

There are large number of newspapers, television shows, and magazines that focus on the gossip and happenings surrounding the life of a celebrity. Many of these celebrities include rappers. Once an reader learns about an event that a rapper had to deal with in their life they often feel a connect to them. This connection is what helps to keep a wide number of rappers popular and successful.

It is widely known that a large number of popular rappers rose to the top from a life on the streets. In fact many of these rapper actually rap about their experiences. Whether it be financial trouble, relationship experiences, or experimenting with drugs and alcohol they often vocal their past into their music. That is another reason why rap music is so popular because many listeners may be able to relate to the experiences or feelings that are described in a song.

Many people have speculated that rap music has also increased in popularity due to the music television stations that the videos are aired on. A wide variety of rappers use beautiful women and flashy vehicles in their music videos. It has been said over and over again that sex sells and it very well may be a contributing factor to the popularity of many rappers and their songs.

In addition to the above mentioned music videos that air on television there are many rappers who are beginning to release DVDs with their music videos on them. This allows fans to watch a particular music video whenever they want to without having to watch a television station and wait for a certain video to come on. Releasing a music video on a DVD is a fairly new procedure; however, it is quickly becoming a success.

In addition to traditional rapping many rappers have become popular for their participation in freestyle or battle rapping. Freestyle rapping is when a rapper develops their own lyrics on the stop. Freestyle rapping has produced a large number of great rap songs and even helped to increase the popularity of battle rapping. Battle rapping is when two or more rappers have to produce their own freestyle rap and then an audience will often judge them. Battle rapping has been featured in a few movies and on a few of the popular music television channels.

Rappers and all of the music that they produce are popular for a number of reasons. Each fan has their own reasons for listening to their music or buying their media products. Some amazing lyrics and rap songs have already been produced; however, as more aspiring rappers try and reach their dream it is likely that best has yet to come.
