The Latest Release From A Ha - Foot of the Mountain

Personally a big A-ha fan from years past, their music is just as good today as it was back then. With the release of each album, the traditional old sound that we have grown to know and love and always with a new spin that just keeps us wanting more. Their latest and perhaps greatest album, number nine to be exact has just been released by this incredible Norwegian band and they are sounding better than ever.

A Ha is a band put together with Morten Harket, lead vocalist, Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, guitarist and Magne Furuholmen, keyboardist. The group originally formed in 1982 when they left Norway and took the music industry by surprise in London. The name, which means affirmative or a positive connotation in many languages, was suppose to be the title of one of their songs. Since it was simple, unique and easy to say the band agreed that it would be a perfect name for them, as well.

There latest album, entitle "Foot of the Mountain" has been released in much of the world, outside of the US. With the album sound so similar to that of their earlier albums, the title track has already begun to climb the charts. The last single to do this well for the band was their track, "Take on Me", from 1985. With such a similar sound this album could be the one to get them back onto the top 40 charts.

Too many bands make this mistake of trying to reinvent themselves, at a time when what they are doing is working, so it is nice to see a band like this that is willing to take a step back and provide today's music with a blast from the past. Realize the top 40 music is played to a different audience, who may just find the A-ha sound as enjoyable as those in the 80s did.
