The Role of Sales Assistants
When we think of something we want to buy there are hundred choices to choose from. Considering the brand, type or model, the relevance of its use, and of course how much are we willing to spend for it. Same as when we walk inside the store we are bombarded with too many gadgets, appliances, shoes, or clothing that more often than not we cannot tell the difference anymore. Then we ended up paying for something that later on we realized that this was not what we wanted or simply buying nothing at all. So the next resort is to surf the net, check out the features of the product and compare the prices from different stores. This tedious effort is normal and rewarding. But who wants to go through it everyday? With the help of a Sales Assistant we don’t have to worry about buying the wrong thing. All of us wanted value for our hard earned money. So we always expect someone who can help magnify the worth of what we paid for. Being a Sales Assistant is not very easy. It’s like going back to school and studying the details of the product assigned to you. Then you are being tested by nosy customers who wants to be sure you really know what you are doing. There is also a need to get the heart of your customers to gain their trust. Since the customers trust you, it becomes a social responsibility on your end to keep it real and help them the best way you can. It’s like passing a Math Test. In a more challenging aspect, being a Sales assistant should at least have a degree in finance or marketing. The job description may also require monitoring the sales operations and checking the inventory to replace the merchandise running low, and keep track of the progression of sales on a given time frame. The projected sales are also filed as part of the company’s portfolio. Other duties may also include receiving phone calls from customers or clients involving problems with their receipts, card transactions, or statements and resolving their issues. Their role mainly displays excellent service to the consumers. It is expected to someone involve in sales to have a positive attitude, having a strategic marketing approach, and can make the revenue go up. All industries that deal with selling and gaining a profit need a sales person in order to maximize the business. With all the competing products nowadays, being a sales assistant has become more challenging and competitive.
