The necessary hardwood floor sanding equipment
|
The safety equipment that you need at a bare minimum is: Eye gogglesDust maskEar plugs Bits and chinks of floor and floor finish will be flying every which way and you don't want to be breathing that in, that is terrible on your lungs. Not only is it going to clog them with all of the particles but the toxins in many of the floor finishes can make you very ill. You don't want to cut your eyes on anything either and sanders are loud so ear protectors are definitely the order of the day. Now we get down t the nitty gritty and that is the sander itself. When you are planning to refinish a floor then you need to get a good drum sander to help you do it. This is one of the noisiest machines ever built and it is a powerful one too. Besides the sander itself you will also need to get the paper to go on it and this should be anywhere from 20 to 36 grit sandpaper. This is easy to get and buy, you will probably be able to get it at the same place that you buy or rent your drum sander. This is not the only kind of hardwood floor sanding equipment that you need either. You still need to get an edge sander. It is this little sander that is going to help you to get into the tight corners and edges so that you can get the entire floor looking even and alike. This sander is much smaller and in some ways more difficult to move. You will have to take care that you are sanding evenly. Move the little machine in a semi circular motion and you will find it a lot easier to use. About The Author: Alphonso has been working in the home remodeling industry for last 5 years.
