Things in grey area
|
Grey area and things in grey area is a wide topic but all of us are constantly dealing with different aspects of grey areas. So what is grey area? What are the important things that we need to know about grey area? How are the decisions made when grey area aspect is present? These are some of the questions that we will discuss in this article. Let’s talk about the definition of grey area first. Grey area usually pertains to something unclear, something that can be looked at in different ways or that can be identified by different categories. Usually when talking about grey area we mean the boundary between several things that is not obvious or that is not understandable. In many cases it is simply impossible or extremely difficult or problematic to define or characterize this boundary. This grey area boundary that we described above tends to move and change depending on the personal point of view and on the current conditions. For one person it could be clear that the boundary lies in one place and for the other person it could be completely in the other place. Many people would simply be uncertain at all where this boundary lies and would have to make a guess. There are many different things in grey area that we can talk about. It is impossible to list all of them but we will provide several examples to clarify the meaning of grey area. Let’s look at the grey area of definitions. There are definitions that are closely related and describe very similar things. It is sometimes very hard to determine where one description category ends and the other begins, to determine the clear border between two definitions. We can also talk about the grey area in business field. It is sometimes unclear what does some business activity or term means and what are the necessary set of actions that need to be taken. This is especially often in the field of accounting. Another thing to mention is that the grey area in business or other fields is often resulting from or at least related to grey area in ethics. The grey area in ethics is the most commonly mentioned type of grey areas. The ethical grey area is the unclear boundary between right and wrong. We all know what is legal and what is not, there are laws for that. But some things that can be legal can be unethical for many people. However, what is unethical for some people is ethical for others. This ambiguity is the cause of grey areas. There are many examples of ethical grey areas. For instance, is it ethical to have death penalty? Is it good for governments to collect taxes in some certain way? Are abortions ethical? Is it good to do something that is illegal but what you consider ethical and just? These are just some of the examples of grey areas and there are many more. A lot of grey areas exist in the filed of law. This type of grey areas is caused by the fact that it is simply impossible to create laws that cover every single aspect of people’s lives. There are many cases when there is no specific law to point out which is the correct way to do something. There are also cases when there are no prior examples and precedents. Another case is where it is not clear if some law applies to this particular situation. About The Author: Aura Mirchandani is the Editor and Publisher of Article Click.
