Tips On Changing Your Hoover Vacuum Bags

If you own a Hoover that uses bags you'll find these tips on changing your Hoover vacuum bags quite helpful.

First of a reminder that you should never change the bags or do any maintenance to your vacuum while it is plugged in so be sure to unplug the cord from the wall.

You should plan to change your bag at least once a month. You may have to change it more often if you have a big house, lots of pets, or lots of kids all of which can increase the amount of dust and debris in your home.

You should always change it when it is two thirds full or less to maintain the proper suction level. If you are cleaning up really fine dust the filtration will be reduced so you will need to change the bag more often.

Occasionally you will need to change belts on your machine as they do wear out with time stretching out or breaking. In order to replace the belt you will need your Hoover's make and model.

Check the agitator regularly and if you see any signs of wear on the belt replace it. If you smell burning rubber it's a good idea to also replace it. Other than that replace them every six months on regular maintenance.

Filters will also need to be replaced. There are several different types on the market including the HEPA filters so you will need your manual so you know which filters you need.

You can wash your HEPA filter out regularly to remove dust and debris but you should replace it every few months too. This is the most important filter on your vacuum so take good care of it.

If the dirt is not going into the bag properly there are a couple of things to check. First make sure that the hose is connected firmly. Do this by taking it off and putting it back on. Make sure the hose is actually dumping the dirt into the container and that it is not plugged. If you find it is plugged giving it a couple of wacks will usually resolve the problem. Sometimes you will need to use a snake to unclog it. This is similar to what you would use on a clogged drain.

Your Hoover is a reliable vacuum cleaner and just a little bit of regular maintenance combined with proper bag changes can extend the life of your vacuum.

Hoover vacuum bags are readily available online and you can save a bundle plus save time chasing around to buy them. It just makes good sense to buy online.
