Something as simple as a brisk walk for half an hour a day dramatically reduces the risk of heart disease. It also helps diabetic patients and victims of cancer and colon cancer.. It helps remain active, independent and enhances your brain function. Maintaining good weight reduces calories which is very essential to keep your heart in good condition. Do not ignore symptoms such as Paralysis of the arms or legs, confusion, dizziness, double vision, tingling, numbness, slurred speech, trouble finding words or weakness, especially on one side of the face or body. In order to reduce these symptoms reduce your weight first and then control your Blood Pressure by having less salt and oily food. Food to eat: A healthy diet includes abundant raw vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Sweet potatoes, leafy vegetables, sprouted grams and cereals, squash, carrots, greens, broccoli these should be partially cooked in order to keep the carotenoids intact. You can eat sauce and pasta, but make sure they are of low fat content. There is no need to abstain from chicken. Eat fat free chicken and consume turkey breast if you can find them. If you love pizza’s, make it at home with fat free chicken. Try and eat raw garlic and onion every day. The photonutrients present in them is quite essential. Pumpkin be it canned or cooked in any form is fine. Walnuts, almonds and ground nuts must be consumed in moderation. Baked whole wheat chips, tortillas and cantaloupes can be consumed. Bean and chickpea dishes must be added to your diet. A quick list of what you can eat, to promote good health of your heart: Bean and chickpea dishes and dips Avoid aerated drinks and colas which have a lot of sugar in them! Limit your self to consumption of Egg yolks, full-fat dairy products such as milks, cheeses, sour cream and ice cream, butter and lard.
