We can say 15.4 is the peak for price/performance/portability combination. Chassis of Satellite A300-20F laptop has curved edges and glossy finishes. The curves have stylish appearance like we have never seen before. Toshiba’s new ‘Horizon’ design pattern, which adds silver lines looks very good on this laptop. This new design makes Toshiba Satellite A300-20F original, it’s good to be able to this good this design around the keyboard too. Click response of the keyboard is excellent, has good key placing which means space between keys are excellent, keys are where they are supposed to be (like FN is between CTRL and Windows key) and ENTER key is big for being able to hit it easily.

Touch sensitive multimedia buttons are placed above the keyboard. They are very quite, have good sensitivity and strong white backlight of the buttons create excellent contrast with its surrounding. This helps seeing them even if the room is dark. By means of quality Toshiba Satellite A300-20F is top-notch, shows no signs of flex or creakiness. Like most of the notebooks’ digital webcam (1.3 megapixels) is just above the screen and has integrated microphone. These features are not just for visual communication, Toshiba’s Face Verification software uses webcam too; allows users to use their faces as a password like a fingerprint reader. This system has some disadvantages though, in cases of some changes with your face, shaving for example, software doesn’t approve the user. Need some development, not quite useful while as it is now.

LCD screen has WXGA 1280x800 resolution which is a standard for any 15.4 inches laptop. TruBrite screen has no flows, but I have to say that viewing angles are pretty narrow even for a laptop. As long as you are looking at from right angle display is very good, also Intel 4500MHD (Max.1340 MB) graphics produce quality colors.

Satellite A300-20F notebooks’ other system features are very good too. 4 GB DDR2 800 Mhz. (Max. 8 GB) Ram and Intel Core2 Duo 800 Mhz. 2.0 Ghz. 2 Mb Cache T6400 processor provide serious horsepower. This system can handle multiple tasks and run newest games. 250 GB hard drive provide enough space for a laptop. Toshiba uses the best sound system for notebooks, made by Harman Kardon brand these notebooks have amazing sound quality.

Varieties of connection points are also satisfying. There are 4 Pin i.LINK, Memory Stick slot, SD card slot, microphone jack, four USB 2.0 ports, USB shared eSata port, HDMI connector, VGA connection point, ExpressCard slot and audio jack.
