Today, Toronto boasts of having a diverse population of over 2.5 million. Greater Toronto has a total population of over 4.5 million. There are more than 150 languages being spoken on a daily basis in the city, with over fifty percent of the population from foreign countries. So what does all that mean when traveling in Toronto? First, be prepared to meet many different types of people when traveling in the city. Obviously, you're going to run into some communication problems due to the diverse number of languages being spoken by different people in the city. Therefore, always carry a note book around just in case there's a need to write or draw to get your message across. The Toronto population are a very driven lot. Since they have come to this land of promise with the expectation of having a better life, they are also well prepared to put in the hard work. With abundant opportunities, hard working people will always come up with creative business ideas. Their creativity drives the large variety of businesses such as retail malls in the city. One can expect to see a large number of different and interesting goods and merchandise that adventurous business owners have brought in. It is also not uncommon to experience outstanding services from the service industry. The diverse population has brought to the city a unique mix of almost everything, ranging from entertainment, clothes, to toys and gadgets. It has brought much life, color and energy to the city and has attracted people from all over the world to come and see what they have to offer. And they do indeed have a lot to offer. The diverse culture thus becomes a natural attraction for tourists. That's surely a great advantage for the city, who also happens to be naturally endowed with many wise old buildings and breath taking sky scrapers. As Toronto is thriving, the city is expected to double its population in a few short years. Everything sounds promising for the city, and the future looks bright.
