Treadmills for Fitness of Body and Mind

Exercise not only benefits the body but can help with mental “fitness” too. Obviously the brain has no muscle to exercise, although some people you might meet appear to have muscle for a brain! but I digress, however the “feel good factor” that most of us have experienced after exercising has a biological cause. Studies have shown that moderate levels of exercise can be just as effective at treating low level depression as pharmaceutical drugs, this is due to the combination of chemicals and hormones that are released during exercise.

Also exercise can help deal with the effects of stress. The “fight or flight” mechanism that often gets triggered inappropriately by the perceived threats of modern life e.g. it’s not really appropriate to fight or run away from the boss having a tantrum, but the body prepares itself to do just that for evolutionary reasons, which can leave forms of adrenaline circulating around the body that don’t get used.

If this happens on a regular basis the adrenaline can begin to have a detrimental effect on the body, burning it off on an exercise treadmill can help counter these negative effects.

Treadmills are top of the list when it comes to home exercise equipment, they have a proven record of being used rather than being resigned to gather dust like a lot of more gimmicky equipment sold on the shopping channels!

They can provide a wide range of no impact to medium impact cardio vascular workouts in the comfort and convenience of your own home. They are therefore suitable for people will all levels starting fitness, from those starting to exercise with or after health problems to the very fit.

Treadmills can be a very convenient way of getting the exercise that should be part of any healthy fat loss plan. They can easily be set up either as a fixed machine, or if space is a problem with a folding treadmill, but the beauty of a treadmill is that your body remains in the same space, meaning you can watch TV or listen to music or even read at slower speeds, so it is much easier to find that elusive “right time” to exercise and you don't have to worry about the weather.

So whether you want to help lose weight or achieve your desired level of fitness, seriously consider an exercise treadmill. With the current economic climate there are some great bargains to be had, but don't buy until you have armed yourself with information first.
