Cut your lining to match the size of the placemat[s] then turn under �" on the top and bottom edges. Press, pin to placemat, and stitch.2. With the right sides together fold your placemat in half and join the short edges. Pin the sides then stitch leaving �" seam allowance. Zig zag the edge.3. Cut your ribbon in half. Apply Fray check to the cut end. Let dry and then tie a knot.4. Place the ribbon at the top of the purse spacing it as desired. Pin in place then stitch securely. Repeat with the other ribbon.5. Sew the Velcro on the inside to make a closure. There are all kinds of great placemats available this season. The colors are fun and funky and within just an hour you can have made yourself a great looking purse. Choose from plaids, squares, vertical or horizontal lines, flowers, or themes. Will that be vibrant lime green, fuchsia, yellow, or perhaps turquoise? Or why not mix and match?
