To avoid this problem don't leave unburned oil in the lamp for more than 24 hours. Remember that when you first go to use your lamp you will need to wait 30 minutes for the fragrance to become absorbed by the wick and move its way up to the burner. Once the stone is soaked it will be able to provide fragrance to your home.
