Try These Home Remedies For Acne

Acne is one of the most common of all skin conditions, and few of us will escape adolescence and puberty completely unscathed by this common problem. The fact that acne is such a commonly encountered problem has led to a number of highly effective home remedies for acne, and it is a good idea to try these natural approaches to curing acne before moving on to the harsher chemicals that are often used to treat acne.

There are many reasons to pursue these home remedies for acne, including the fact that many of us can be quite sensitive to the various chemicals used in commercial acne preparations and treatments. For instance, benzoyl peroxide, perhaps the most commonly used of all acne treatment ingredients, while quite effective, can also cause the skin to become dry and flaky. It has also been known to cause inflammation, redness and swelling, and many acne sufferers are so bothered by these side effects that they end up abandoning treatment, making the acne outbreak even worse as a result.

In addition, the many highly effective prescription medications often used to treat acne can have a number of unpleasant and even dangerous side effects, so it is important for those suffering from acne to be aware of these issues. Working first with home remedies for acne may eliminative the need for these expensive and possibly dangerous prescription acne medications.

Some of the most effective of all home remedies for acne include:

1. Take an orange peel, pound it well and mix it with water. Apply this mixture of orange peel and water to the areas of the face and body that are affected by acne lesions.

2. Use a fresh cut clove of garlic to rub the acne lesion, pimple or blackhead.

3. Grate cucumber leaves or pieces of cucumber and apply the cream to the areas affected by acne.

4. Create your own homemade face mask by using cloves or a past of funegreek leaves. This mask can be applied right before bed, left in place overnight and washed off the next morning.

In addition to these home remedies for dealing with acne it is important to eat plenty of nutritious foods, including eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, while treating an acne outbreak. In addition, drinking plenty of fresh water, at least eight glasses per day, is thought by many to have a positive impact on acne outbreaks.
