Tubaligation
|
It isn't uncommon for a woman to decide to have this done after giving birth, and the procedure is often done the very next day. However, it is also common for a woman to schedule the procedure at any point in her life when she feels the need to. She doesn't have to have a baby first in order to do so. The procedure is relatively quick and if all goes well the woman can go home later that same day or the next morning. There may be some side effects after a tubaligation due to the anesthesia. The nausea should subside though within a few hours. There is also some pain as the body heals from the procedure. It will go away within a few weeks though and medication is often given for the first few days to help control it. There are a few ways in which a tubaligation can be done. If a woman has a baby by cesarean the work can be done after the baby is born and before the area is sewn up. If she has a vaginal birth or if there is no baby born prior to the procedure a small incision is made below the belly button. There is a 1% chance of a pregnancy after tubaligation. It is recommended that alternative forms of birth control are used for the first six months after the procedure takes place. It is important to remember that this procedure won't protect against sexually transmitted diseases. As a result condoms should still be used if you aren't in a committed relationship with only one person. Some women change their mind though and are interested in pregnancy after tubaligation takes place. There are many reasons why a woman may change her mind later on. She may be better off financially or in a new relationship where she feels confident about having children. Today there are reversal procedures that can be performed. The success rate of a woman becoming pregnant after the reversal procedure is about 70%. About The Author: |
