Types of Refrigerator

r>Purchasing a refrigerator for your new home or just to replace the old broken down one you currently have is a big decision. First the refrigerator you're going to buy is probably going to be with you for a very long time, and if you pick the wrong one it's sure going to be expensive to replace it. Like all appliances, the refrigerator has changed to meet the different types of needs that consumers demand. An example would be the deeper cabinet space for more storage room. Before rushing to the next closest home appliances shop on a refrigerator that is not going to accommodate your needs, you should figure what you need in a refrigerator.

Depending on the size of your household, you will know what kind of things you need to keep cold. The refrigerator that you are going to purchase will have to be able to hold all items you family consume. For a household with kids there is going to be a need for more room to store food like leftovers, and milk. While if it's just you and a friend living together, you probably won't need to store as much food compared to a family. Knowing what you need to store is a good start of knowing what type of refrigerator you will need to purchase.

Freezer room is an important feature to consider when purchasing a new refrigerator. Will you need to buy a refrigerator combined with a freezer or is it more efficient to just buy a separate freezer from a refrigerator. You should have a good approximation on how much more or less room you need for your frozen foods with your current refrigerator mixed freezer. If you need a great deal of room for your frozen food then a separate freezer unit away from your refrigerator will be more efficient. Another question in regard of the freezer is how often you take food out of it. If it's not on a regular basis it is better off that you were to buy a separate freezer away from a refrigerator as it will save you some space in the kitchen.

Depending on the refrigerator space you need you will be able to decide what kind of combination you would need. There are two combination sizes that can possibly meet any consumer's needs for a refrigerator, the 42" combination and 48" combination. A 48" combination can hold more the entire cabinet of a typical refrigerator combined freezer just in its refrigerator section alone. But it is obvious that the amount of space you get in a 48" combination will be a lot more than most household will lead. In comes the 42" combination since which will provide you with a lot more space than the standard refrigerator combined with freezer but will not be as monstrous as the 48" combination. But if you still feel that both these models are too big and will eat up a lot of space in the kitchen then cabinet-depth model will be your next best choice.

Where do you plan on having your new refrigerator installed? Of course depending on where you want your refrigerator will help you decide what height you will want your new refrigerator to be. If the plans are to be less conventional such as have it installed along the counter like a dishwasher than a refrigerator that is small enough to fit inside a base cabinet area will be perfect for you. But there is always the standard-height refrigerator that requires a free space in front of a free wall. There are also the built-in models which are quite big and require a free wall as well just like a standard-height refrigerator.

Color of the refrigerator can be either the most important factor in purchasing a new refrigerator or the least depending on who you ask. But overall it is better to have a refrigerator that will match the color your kitchen. Current popular colors being produced by manufacturers are mainly stainless steel and black, but there are always the white and bisque models that will never go away. If the typical colors of refrigerators do not match your kitchen then you can try looking for some manufacturers that do produce refrigerator in colors such as blue, green and red. But you should not be discourage not to purchase a particular model if the color is not what you are looking for since some higher-end brands do have models that allows you to change the outer panels and install the colors you want to watch your kitchen.
